PE Games Database

Games designed for learning.

Every game in this collection was designed around a learning target, tested with real students, and written up so you can walk into the gym and run it tomorrow. No filler. No "just play it and see."

Browse by category

Start with the category, not the game.

Games that share skills, tactics, and playing structures belong together. Pick the category you are teaching and the games inside it will keep pulling on the same tactical thread.

Why game categories matter

By grouping games based on what they have in common (skills, tactics, playing area), we can take a thematic approach to teaching PE. Students get to work on the same tactical problem, like getting open in invasion games, across a whole set of different games.

That is what makes the learning transfer. A student who figures out how to create space in Speed Ball has something real to bring to Matball, and to basketball, and to whatever they end up playing at recess. That is the whole point.
